It took a week since I started filling the bird feeder again for the first bird to fly into the house this afternoon. Fortunately, I caught the dove with a towel and released it outside before Hanna could catch it . . .

what if you put up a screen door? Would that keep the birds out?

ffleur - the door it flew in yesterday usually has a screen, but it's in the process of being replaced - the problem is that the dogs go in and out, and I tend to too . . .I was thinking of trying hanging strings of beads or plastic strips to discourage the birds coming in, but allowing the "girls" and I to go in and out

Norm has a large picture window in his kitchen, and birds always bounce into it and fly away.

Only once did one perish, which was sad. But before Norm could clear him away, some animal came outta the woods and took the poor little fellow away.

I love redbirds. I've never seen so many since I moved to Tenn. My cats like them too. Fortunately they are indoor cats.

BTW, they were filming Smith in Seal Beach today, right @ the Pier.

norm - a home near the woods? sounds very nice!

Prunella - when my indoor cat was xrayed years ago, they found a mouse skeleton inside of her!

la - damn! did you see my future stalking victim, Simon Baker? I thought Smith was cancelled????

I made my discovery kind of late in the day yesterday, stopped at the signal of Ocean and Main St where I talked to a couple crew members while I waited for the green light. I asked about Liotta and they said, "not today." I couldn't remember Simon's name, so he might be there! I'll try to swing by @ lunch time and see if they are still set up.

la - The crew probably would have looked at you with utter disdain, had you asked "Is the really cute one here today?"
