This is the messenger bag they created this morning on Knitty Gritty . I think this is a very cool project, that is going on my already lenghty to-do list. The other cool thing was that on this show, the "knitsters" (regular folks participating in the day's project) were 2 men. The first appeared with his daughter - he learned to knit so that he could assist her. The second was the football-playing son of the messenger bag project designer, who learned to knit as a child. As he said, he gets some teasing from his team mates, but doesn't feel that his masculinity is defined by his knitting.

So my knitted cap is off to these fellas, who are willing to challenge stereotypes, and join us ladies in the knitting world.

Hey, if Rosie Grier is a master knitter (or is it crochet?), why not these guys? What were their approximate ages? BTW, Ginger taught her husband and both sons to knit.

You're right! And according to Wikipedia, macrame is another one of his hobbies.

Cool the knitting guys were young.
