Birdies at the feeder this morning. Ok, I'm giving the mourning doves one more try to prove that they can learn not to fly into the house. I love feeding birds from the feeder - I love the chirping sounds and the sight of them all. The problem is that the birds, particularly the doves, fly into the house, and if I'm not quick, Hanna snatches them out of the air . . .

I love the way my cats "talk" to birds. It's one of nature's greatest mysteries and even after years of watching it, it still fascinates me.
la - I love those kitty noises!
Diane - Your post reminded me about years ago when I had dogs. Morning doves use to nest in my patio, and when the baby birds took their first flight - they would sometimes land in the backyard. I won't describe what "Fred" and "Alice" did.
On two occasions I saw the birds fly right into my garage. It only took them a short while to fly back out through the big open door, but it was neat to witness their first flights.
dan - I swear - I don't know how doves haven't died out . . . they always pick the worst nesting spots around my house . . .
