We didn't see a ton of wildlife in the Berkshires, but at the Mass Audobon reserve, we did find some beavers and frogs . . . . The beaver kept swimming towards us and slapping his tail.

It's been a busy, crazy week back in So Cal. Between the fires, and needing to hit the ground running at work, I'm exhausted. I need to work some this weekend, and I'm having breakfast with a friend on Sunday.

Anybody have more exciting plans than me?

There used to be a beaver pond across the road from the house I grew up in. I used to go down there all the time when I was little.

No exciting plans for the wknd at all.

Uggg. I've got three on my property and they have dammed the river and build an enormous hut.

I have to keep breaking it open to prevent flooding.

My weekend will mostly be work too! Hopefully tomorrow will be very productive when I'm the only one in the office.

I remember swimming in a lake somewhere in New England--I kept hearing a slap that sounded like a high power rifle close by. After several shots, I saw that it was a beaver swimming just a ways out in the lake, back and forth, warning me I'm sure not to come any closer.

Doing a little work from home this weekend, but I have to do that nearly every weekend. For Halloween fun, we're throwing two parties Saturday night - one for each of the kids and their friends.

Um, let's see work, hockey, work, sleep. That's pretty much it.

Beavers are fun.

The top picture looks like it inspired a Monet painting.

My weekend consisted of the knitting group, meeting some relatives from Florida for a meal, and a girls' night out with some friends from work. Girls' night out was a bust because one of the girls whose marriage is collapsing decided not to tell any of us ahead of time that she was having her new secret boyfriend meet us. It kind of ruined the spirit of the evening.

Kitty - You funny.
