Wow, it's nice to have a 3 day weekend! Mine was nice and easy. My biggest accomplishments were probably:
1. replacing my lightbulbs with the new energy efficient type; and
2. getting a new tank with a big living underwater plant for Splish, my ancient gold fish.
And, I have to say, from the perspective of a person living at the coast, I'm glad summer is officially over, and life at the beach can return to normal.

your fish looks happy. As someone who grew up near the coast, I agree with you--the beach is wonderful in September, it's still warm enough to swim and you don't have the crowds.
God, my biggest accomplishment this weekend was stuffing my face.
I like your fish tank. Pretty.
How on Earth do you keep a goldfish alive? Mine always died within, like, 24 hours. Of course, I attribute that partly due to being hit in the head numerous times with ping pong balls at the state fair, prior to my claiming it, but still....
(And congrats on getting your beach back. I feel that way about the mountains.)
Cool fish. I wish I had a tank, but that would require actual work to maintain the tank. Plus, I get upset when the fishies die. :(
Enjoy your empty beach!
Amen to that! Goodbye, beach-goers!
p.s. Splish is a great name.
It sounds like you had a nice and relaxing wknd. I like the new fish tank. How long have you had your fish?
I feel your pain. The hottest weekend on record and living at the beach means throngs of hot, sweaty idiots invading your turf.
Pelegrim and I spent the weekend testing the strength of our marriage by doing home improvement projects. What we discovered was the less time we spent in the same room, the stronger the marriage.
Lovely fish. Must be cool in there, eh?
Team Splish!! They love it when you get them a bigger tank. It makes them happy.
sage - exactly!
pru - that is always high on my list too
princess - ha! I love that carnival game too! No idea how he has lasted so long - dumb luck?
edit - I've always wanted to get a big tropical tank, but Splish is as far as I have gotten
la - it's been a crazy summer
kat - believe it or not, I've had Splish about 10 years. Not sure why this one has lasted so long when others, (including his tank mate Splash) have keeled over
kookla - and that is IDIOTS with all caps
flix - it's funny, but you can tell they are happy!
The energy efficient lightbulbs are very bright. My new apartment is full of 'em.
Splish is 10 years old?! That's like 564 gold fish years.
That goldfish must be old. His scales have turned white
I love that name Splish!
