Is it just me or does the weather appear to be taking a turn for the worse in Jellystone?
I am certain - even more certain than usual - that my checked bag won't make it to Montana, so I am bringing all the key warmth items in my carry on. Sure, I will only have one outfit to wear for the week, and I will be smelly, but I will be warm, dammit!

This is good thinking. They only lose your luggage if it would devastate your vacation.
Jellystone? Isn't that what the park was called from the Flintstones cartoon?
Well, don't forget to pack an extra pick-a-nick basket, Boo-Boo!
All I can say being a New Englander is wool. Sweater, socks, pants, whatever. It works.
more taunting about this trip, you better bring back good stories!
Wool is good, but polypropolene (spelling) or silk undergarments are also a necessity--and in the dryer climates as in the west, down can't be beat. Layering is essential for if the sun is out and your working hard skiing or snowshoeing, you can work up a sweat easily even though the air temp is near zero.
