Is is wrong that I am 45 years old and I just pre-ordered the final installment of Harry Potter?

I have to admit that I really enjoy these books, particularly the last few that have gotten a bit darker. Like millions of people decades younger than me, I am hoping the death in the last installment was a hoax, and also that Harry survives the final chapters of the next book.

Besides, by pre-ordering from Amazon, I won't have to suffer the humiliation of being the tallest "kid" in line at Barnes and Noble.

at least you'll finish Harry before you get your AARP card!

sage - funny you should mention that - I work with a lady in her 60s who is also a big Potter fan - she'll be pre-ordering her book too!

I read them! But I "borrow" them from my 11 yr old cousin. And while entertaining, the movies are not as good as the books.

I love Harry Potter too although I only read the first two books I think they are amazing stories. I just feel a little silly reading them at times but then again I'll read about anything I can get my hands on.

Diane - I think a lot of "grown ups" read these books! You're definitely not alone.

I feel the same way about the "A Series of Unfortunate Events" books which is written for kids. I had a countdown going till I could get my hands on the last one. I'm sad that the series was ended after 13 books.

Yeah, I must stubbornly admit the HP series is entertaining. But I haven't read the books. I've only seen a couple of the movies. So perhaps the books are actually better. The first couple movies were a bit interesting if lackluster. But I must say I did enjoy the series installment directed by Alfonso Cuaron. Not only for the direction and cinematography but also for a bit of a clever plot and a heartfelt story. But let's face it, JRR Tolkien should be getting half of the profit.
