Ok, I am here to declare the wearing a ribbon phenomen to show support for a good cause officially dead.
It started out as a well meaning way to show support for those suffering from AIDS at a time when there was still an unfortunate stigma attached to the disease. From there, we had, among others, pink ribbons to show support for breast cancer victims, and yellow ribbons to show support for our service men and women.
Now we have the "mourners" at Anna Nicole Smith's funeral wearing ribbons to show support for . . . what? The baby? How about coming to a reasonable settlement on determining her paternity and raising her as a way to show her "support" and love? ANS? How about not facilitating her drug addiction and self-destructive behavior as a way to show support?
If these people were any phonier, they'd all be SPAM (the fake meat-like product, not the mass emailed advertisements for penis enhancement).
FYI, that is Birkhead, his lawyer and Stern from L to R, and note to Larry - when your lawyer becomes your best friend and biggest supporter, it is a bad sign - just ask ANS.

My theory on what is actually making Howard K Stern cry:
fighting in court for years to get ANS her hubby's money knowing he would get 6% of the proceeds. Now who is going to pay him to continue the fight and give him his money? THAT is what is really making him cry.
I hadn't heard abou this, Diane, but I agree with every word you said.
It looks like the ribbons are white... is that to symbolize the color of methadone or TrimSpa?
