Auntie Diane's Helpful Household Tip for Sunday, January 15, 2007:
On mornings when the temperature hits the low '30's, after you load up the Crock Pot for Sunday dinner, go ahead and warm your hands by placing them around the base of the slow cooker.
If you don't have a Crock Pot, a small dog makes an acceptable hand warming substitute.

I like to tuck my cold hands right between the warmest parts of Pelegrim...his armpits! I betcha thought I was going to say somewhere lower!!!! : )
ffleur - I'm still working on getting her to sign on to this plan
kookla - Pelegrim sounds much more fun than the crockpot and the dog - but there was ice on the sidewalks this morning, and I just couldn't get warm
ice on the sidewalks? that's nothing. my truck (which is too big to get in the garage of a house built in the 40s, was iced over this morning and required five minutes of work to get the wippers freed and enough glass cleared to see by, we're to get another bit of freezing rain tonight. Where's the snow?
Another tip... purring kitties make good hot water bottles for monthly cramps.
A crock pot or a little warm dog would be perfect right now. I'm getting snow and ice up here! It's miserable to drive in, but after the freakishly mild winter I was getting a little worried about where the snow was. It's minus 10 right now (about 13 degrees for you americans).
Oh Diane, you should also make it clear that the crock pot and the small dog shouldn't be used together. Perhaps that's why Noodles looks so unsure?
mishy - good point!
