I took a lot of Spanish in school and now only use it in trying to communicate with my maid. She left me a note this week saying, "I need a new map." I was like, "Map? But she knows where I live!" It took me a moment to realize she meant "mop."

edit - too funny! the last few years I have travelled in Central and South America, and while I can get around, it would nice to be able to communicate less with hand gestures . . .

Not Spanish?
*hangs head in shame*
Hi Diane!
hi ffleur! good to see you!
Damn Spanish! I could read, write and speak Italian fluently, until I took Spanish in high school. Now I confuse them and speak half and half.
Joe, that is good to know.
But Joe, consider this... my brother's Italian helps him understand his wife's family when they speak Spanish in front of him.
muy bueno?
