I didn't win the snowglobe pin, but I did win this snowglobe! God only knows why, but I have decided I need holiday snowglobes for my home this Christmas . . .

I used to do up my home and tree pretty nicely. I have a collection of Waterford and a few Radko ornaments. Then Hanna joined the family, and I decided I didn't want to worry about her breaking expensive items, so in the intervening few years, the nice ornaments remain packed, and instead, I have one box of holiday decorations I pull out each year with lights and cheap Target ornaments.

The truth is, that Hanna leaves the tree alone, but it's so dang easy to go the one box route . . .

Have you seen the Pixar short about the snowman in the snowglobe?

It's awesome- I highly suggest you find a copy if you haven't seen it.

Also- I'm all about convenience decorating. My neighbors spent hours balancing on their roof, adjusting the lights and sleigh just-so.

I wound a strand of lights around our handrailing on our front steps WHILE holding a glass of wine, and called it good.

tee, hee, princess on your decorating finesse... especially loved the glass of wine!

This year's tree will be tinsel-less because tinsel is on grand dog's *eat me* list. {grin}

The compromises we don't make for our wonderful furry friends, eh!?!

I may actually put some lights outside like princess did. But not until we have snow.

It's that time to begin decorating now that I'm back home and there's snow in the air--maybe I'll do a series of post with my favorite decorations/ornaments

I'm in an apartment and it doesnt really feel like home, so I'm not feeling the decorating. Partly because I'm lazy and partly because its the end of the semester and I'm broke.

I like snow globes!

A few years ago, I got a couple of small, tabletop sized trees. I do one up in ocean theme and the other is miscellaneous.

I should mention that one of my cats took down the ocean tree one year and broke a bunch of ornaments, but tabletop trees might work well with dogs.

Plus, I have one of those silver-plated trees that I put my good china and crystal ornaments on.

I love Christmas decorations! Congrats on your new snowglobe.

Bah humbug! I hate xmas. I can't wait for the holidays to be over. I do enjoy snowglobes, however.

There's a famous TV actor who collects snow globes (a guy, no less) - I wish I could remember his name.

I like Christmas trees but haven't put one up in awhile. It's a lot of work for a single person.

On your tree, lightly peppered in between the normal ornaments, you should hang odd things that don't fit. Like say a slice of bacon, or a Master Lock. It will trip people out.
