Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get me . . .

Is it just me, or is the turn around time at Netflix doubling lately? It used to be that it took one day for Netflix to receive my return, and then one more day for me to receive the next disc. So when I returned 3 movies on Monday, I had 3 more movies on Wednesday. Now it seems that it takes 2 days for returns, and 2 more days to receive the next shipment. So the same returns on Monday result in new movies arriving on Friday. These delays basically make it impossible to get more than 3 movies in any given week.

Anybody else notice a change for the worse in service?

I've been using Blockbuster, and don't have that problem.

You're not imaginging things, Diane. I was kind of attributing it to SB postal service, but now that I hear you're having the same problem, I might have to reassess. I've also had a lot of broken discs and "wrong disc/right envelope" situations. I've been frustrated for about a month now.

Actually it might be problems with USPS, though you should definitely check out your queue page on netflix. When netflix gets back a DVD it will take some time to process it but will send you the next DVD that same day. I say you start checking your queue page after you send your next DVD to see when they receive it and how quickly they send the next one out. They also email me when they've received a DVD and when they send one out, but you might have to change your account settings for that. Also, I forget where to find out, but I have a netflix DVD center like a town over so it's close by. Once, an older foreign film had to be mailed from another state and therefore took longer.

I haven't heard from others, but netflix service has been pretty solid for me. Hopefully this is just a hiccup for you Diane.

I still get Netflix on an immediate turnaround, which is a miracle in the Keys. Then again, the discs only have to come from Ft. Lauderdale.

I'm a little tired of the answering the "When did you mail the movie" surveys each time.

Thanks for dropping by my blog!

Diane, I think this happens to everybody. It's part of their profit structure. When the damaged discs and delays kick-in, it's their way of raising cash flow.

I put up with it for a couple of months, realized it wasn't going to change, and quit the program.

I think the idea behind the company is brilliant, and they have a great selection of movies, but they need a better game plan for success.

You must live in a parallel universe. One with 48-hour days.

How in the world do you find time to:
watch movies
read & listen to books
care for two dogs
play golf
work full time
write blogs everyday

I need a nap....

It generally only takes 2 to 3 days, but it only has to travel 45 miles (yet, I'm sure the postal service can will double that). I'm with Ffluer, were do you get the time? And why sent all 3 in at the same time (I only get one at a time).

Ok, so today I got my emails from netflix acknowledging receipt of the discs mailed Monday . . .

I don't always mail them all at once, I just happened to watch all 3 over the weekend - an Inspector Morse, and the 2 discs for Prime Suspect 6. I don't watch my network tv, so besides a couple of shows and watching the Angels' games, I tend to watch old BBC productions on dvd. . . .

How do I find the time? Clearly, I have no social life besides hanging out with the dogs and knittin'

Hmmm, did you mail them Monday morning or evening?

But if they did receive them Wednesday morning, they should process them and have your new DVDs out by the end of the day. So you should get the DVDs tomorrow afternoon ... check your queue, it should say the the expected arrival date.

I've been debating about whether I should sign up for NetFlix or for the Blockbuster plan. Any suggestions?
